Let’s get the facts*…

  • In 2010, 4.8% (5.6 million households) accessed and relied on emergency food from food pantries.
  • 1 in 7 people in the world will go to bed hungry tonight.
  • In the US, more than 1 out of 6 children live in a household with food insecurity.

  • During the month of April, NETA Cares teamed up with Key for Hope Foundation to collect keys that would convert into money to support the local community. The keys are melted down into scrap metal, which are then sold for profit to fill food pantries. 100% of donations go towards neighboring food pantries.

NETA Cares was excited to help to unlock hunger and collected 53 pounds of keys. Those keys equated to $106 in scrap metal. This was then donated to the Brookline Food Pantry, whose mission is to ensure none of their neighbors go to bed hungry.

Alli, NETA Cares volunteer, explains, “I have always been attached to keys, and to be able to promote a foundation everyday through the collection of keys makes me want to be responsible for the change our mission could bring. I am thrilled to have the support from NETA Cares and shared interest to create that change together.”
