NETA Cares volunteers rose before the sun to cheer on Team Brookline during their last big run before the world-renowned Boston Marathon.
Team Brookline is comprised of marathon runners representing the town of Brookline, dedicated to raising funds for the local community. They focus on five charities: Brookline Community Mental Health Center, Brookline Education Foundation, Brookline Library Foundation, Brookline Symphony Orchestra, and Brookline Teen Center.
This run gathered thousands of local marathon runners, businesses, charity teams, running clubs, etc. in one large celebration before Marathon Monday. Amina, Brookline NETA Cares volunteer, comments, “It was really exciting to see all the runners pass by us! As someone who loves exercising, I was very impressed at the progress these runners made during their last practice run. My favorite part was looking up to see a former high school classmate; our eyes both lit up and we exchanged enthusiastic hellos. Seeing her run and push herself for a personal accomplishment inspired me to think about how can I push myself in my own goals.”
Team Brookline and NETA Cares will be teaming up at a co-branded cheer station during the Boston Marathon. Join us at Coolidge Corner, Monday, April 17th. Let the countdown to Marathon Monday begin!
