Sunday morning could not have been more perfect: 70s and clouds. Not typically what one hopes for on a New England Sunday morning in June. However, for the NETA Cares 10k team, that was the most ideal weather they have experienced over the past two years of participating in the BAA 10k, presented by Brigham and Women’s Hospital. They joined hundreds of runners on Sunday to help raise funds for several departments, areas and initiatives at BWH and Women’s Faulkner Hospital.
Last year, NETA Cares had twelve runners take on the Commonwealth Ave course. This year, another twelve athletes braved the iconic, fast-paced race – some new faces, some returning ones. Top three runners were Dave, Bry and Arnon, all with finishing times under 50 minutes. The rest of the team completed the 10k in close to an hour – a personal best for the team all-around!
Arnon commented, “I was so happy to be at the Boston 10k. Being with the NETA team, knowing that we support BWH and what a great course with more than 8,000 people running it. In life, it does not get much better than that. Plus, it feels like this year everyone ran hard and achieved their time goals but didn’t do too much (including me) and that’s a really good outcome.”
Lynnette, Director of Dispensary Operations, added, “My personal best during a road race with 9,999 of my closest running friends from around the world = awesome! What a gorgeous and perfect day it was to run on behalf of NETA Cares and BWH, who are both so dedicated to improving so many people’s lives.”
NETA Cares is proud to be a Corporate Champion sponsor of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and looks forward to the rest of the year’s events with the team. To see photos from the 10k, click here!
