It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And we’re not referring to back-to-school shopping or the holiday season. It’s the annual Woofstock Dog Festival, presented by Buddy Dog Humane Society. Hundreds of humans and dogs gathered on the grounds of the Hudson Elks Pavilion for one thing: helping Buddy Dog continue to carry out its mission to care for all of the homeless cats and dogs that come through its doors each year.

Woofstock is Buddy Dog Humane Society’s annual outdoor fundraiser and festival. Attendees get to enjoy almost a hundred vendor booths including rescue groups, crafts, and businesses from all over New England. It also includes big raffles, delicious food, live music, kids entertainment, contests, agility and dog demonstrations.

NETA Cares was a “Faithful Companion” sponsor this year, and had a booth with a fun prize wheel. Lines of enthusiastic pet owners and their fury friends could be seen in front of the booth, excited to take their chances and spin the wheel. Dog toys quite literally flew off the shelves, and all were given out with an hour to spare. Fret not, that hour was not wasted! NETA Cares volunteers were equipped with a rainbow tie-dye photo booth frame, where people could take a picture with their dog to commemorate the big day.

Mikayla, NETA Cares administrator, commented, “This is by far my favorite event that we participate in. I can’t think of a better way to spend my Saturday than surrounding myself with adorable pups and awesome people, all for an amazing cause. You can tell everyone truly supports Buddy Dog, and for good reasoning! They take great care of the pets they shelter.”

We hope to be back next year, and the year after that, and the year after that! In the meantime, check out our gallery from the fun festival. Next up, NETA Cares will have a foursome at the Faulkner Hospital Golf Tournament, presented by Brigham and Women’s Hospital, on Wednesday, October 3rd.
