Milford’s own Craftroots Brewery hosted its first-ever 3-mile High HOPes Run/Walk over the weekend. The race gathered almost 100 local runners on the 65-degree, sunny Saturday morning. NETA Cares sponsored the hilly and challenging race, and had several runners taking it on.

NETA Cares’ sponsorship brought exciting news to the High HOPes runners: 100% of every entry fee went towards the Daily Bread Food Pantry in Milford, MA. To top it all off, Dave, NETA’s Director of Production Operations, finished the race in 19 minutes, 10 seconds, taking the first place spot overall and for the men’s division.

Dave commented, “Great Course…Big Hill…nearly puked…Great Beer…Awesome Company…Won!  I had a great day, thanks to NETA Cares and Craft Roots.”

The race concluded with an awards ceremony inside Craftroots Brewery. Runners celebrated the first annual 3-mile race with tasty Craftroots beers and delicious sandwiches from a local food truck. The organizers were proud to announce that the race will take place again next year; they hope to make this an annual event. And we hope so too!

NETA Cares is winding down for the rest of the year, and is focusing on drives.
