NETA Cares brought in the New Year full of laughter, cheer and community spirit. Some of our Northampton employees bundled up, drank multiple cups of hot coffee and experienced the signature Northampton First Night on December 31st. The day-long festival stretches back 85 years, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting community arts. It continues to be an iconic and critical piece of Northampton, and NETA Cares was proud to be a sponsor.

Alex, Northampton PSA, commented, “There were so many positive vibes. The whole city came alive and together. Was so great to be a part of. I went to eighteen different venues and barely scratched the surface! Looking forward to next year.”

Jake, Northampton PSA, resonated similar feelings, “So appreciative to go out with our leaders and team to show the community how much we support them and vice versa. We’re lucky to have so many incredible neighbors willing to be a part of a city-wide event!”

First Night Northampton kicked off at noon, and continued until the classic New Year’s Eve ball drop. One could find entertainment in every direction, from a guitar band, to magic acts, to jazz bands and more. Dave, Northampton PSA, shared, “First Night was amazing! We started a conga line with a brass band, saw a juggler, a magician, and tons of music capped off with a fireworks show. It was humbling and so much fun to be there.”

And that concludes 2017 for NETA Cares! We are ready for 2018 and have some wonderful organizations we plan on working with.
