Did you know that June 1st was National Donut Day? Our NETA Cares team sure did! They volunteered their time and energy to help make The Food Bank of Western MA’s Donut and Beer Pairing Party a night to remember. Hosted by Meghan Rothschild of Chikmedia and Steve Nagle of Rock 102, this wildly successful and delicious event brought sweet joy to guests’ taste buds while helping to fund raise for the Food Bank.

Participating bakeries and donut shops were assigned a Berkshire Brewing Co beer. The two teamed up to create a perfect donut + beer combination. Our NETA Cares team and guests were able to sample the pairings and vote on their favorite. Attendees tasted donuts from: 30Boltwood, The Carriage House at Storrowtown Tavern, Donut Dip Inc, Glazed Doughnut Shop, Hager’s Farm Market, Mrs. Murphy’s Donuts, Randall’s Farm and Westfield State Dining Services.

For NETA Cares, this event was not all play. The team was responsible for many aspects that made the night run smoothly, including selling ticket/raffle, greeting guests, checking IDs upon entry, facilitating the auction table, managing the lawn game area, and more. With 13 volunteers, the team was able to execute tasks with ease! Amanda, Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinator, commented, “You were right there when we needed you with such eager and dedication. Many staff members commented that you were the best group they’ve ever seen – amazing, cooperative and supportive! You could have been anywhere Friday night and you chose to help us out!”

NETA Cares is incredibly pleased to have supported such a wonderful and successful event. We wish to continue to support the Food Bank of Western MA through more events and drives. Stay tuned for more stories and opportunities! In the meantime, check out our gallery from this event: click here!
