#ThankfulThursday

NETA Cares spent the last month or so collecting goods for our local neighbors. NETA Northampton collected food for the Food Bank of Western MA. NETA Brookline collected food and toiletries for Rosie’s Place. NETA Franklin collected cold weather clothing items for Project Just Because.

The Food Bank of Western MA distributes food to our member agencies in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties. They also serve as an important resource to help strengthen the emergency food network and develop long-term projects to fight the causes of hunger in the community. NETA Northampton was able to collect and donate 184 lbs. of food.

Rosie’s Place is a sanctuary for homeless and poor women. Rosie’s Place was founded in 1974 as the first women’s shelter in the United States. Their mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that helps poor and homeless women maintain their dignity, seek opportunity and find security in their lives. NETA Brookline collected and donated an unbelievable 1093 lbs. of food and toiletries for these women in need.

Project Just Because runs various programs throughout the year serving basic needs of families, children, and seniors. They also have special opportunities during the holidays to help people in need by providing not only basic necessities, but also an emotional boost during what can be a difficult time. NETA Franklin was able to fill an entire 66 Qt. plastic bin with hats, mittens, scarves, jackets, coats and more.

We will continue to support the communities around us. Our drives were wildly successful because of our employees’ passion and the outstanding generosity of our patient base. We’re truly all in this together, and especially during the holiday season, we need to show the warmth to everyone in any way we can.
