Last Saturday combined motorcycles, old-school cars, dogs and food. How can that be possible? The Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center, that’s how! This year marked its ninth year organizing a motorcycle run and car show to benefit homeless animals in shelter at the TJO Center. Proceeds helped to provide much needed medical care and training to many of the animals there.
Bikers kicked their stands up early in the morning and took a scenic route through western MA. They continued the party after with live music, BBQ, TJO pets and an old-fashioned car show. There were 124 bikes, 178 riders and 26 show cars – making this year’s event a major success.
NETA Cares was thrilled to not only sponsor the event, but to have two car participants and a handful of volunteers assisting with the show. Amy, Northampton PSA commented, “Thomas J. O’Connor’s fundraiser was a beautifully moving event that I was proud to be a part of!” Alicia, Northampton PSA, shared similar sentiments, “The 9th TJO Ride Like An Animal Motorcycle Run and Car Show was a great event. To help raise money and awareness in order to provide the necessary daily care and emotional support needed to help keep all the dogs, cats and other animals safe and well-cared for. It was such a positive experience to see so many people come out and support this great event. Including myself, who had the pleasure of volunteering for NETA Cares, which is a great support to our community.”
